Upcoming Events for Trail to Recovery

Jan 24th Trail Clean up and Ride 11am Meet Up!  Details below.

Purpose:
This ride is intended to respectfully reopen the property, allow veterans the first opportunity to enjoy it, and complete minor trimming to improve access for future use.

Property Background:
The property is owned by a military veteran and was formerly used as an off-road driving training facility for the military with over 12 miles of trails. It has been closed for several years and is now in the process of reopening.
In recognition of the property’s history and ownership, the owner would like fellow veterans to have the first ride as the trail system is reopened.

Address is
292 Union Shiloh Ln
Jamaica, VA 23079
United States

Trail Conditions:
Recent work was completed to reopen the trails using a skid steer with a bush hog. Most trails are open and passable, with only minor trimming needed.

There are still small items to address, including:
• Tree limbs that need to be cut back
• A few small trees that need removal
• Tight turns on one trail that may require additional trimming for larger vehicles

Jeep TJ-size vehicle can navigate the trails, but larger rigs may require trimming to safely pass.

Expectations for the Ride:
This will be an initial, working ride as part of reopening the property. Participants should expect to do light trail maintenance as needed.

Recommended Equipment to Bring:
• Weed eater with brush cutter attachment
• Small chainsaw
• Hand loppers

When you turn at the church stay straight on the gravel road. You will pass a paved driving course on the right and you will continue down the lane until you get to a white trailer on the left. Park in the gravel and not in the yard.
